About

I'm Sayer. I build games, tools and web experiments by hand.

How it's built

Hand-written HTML, CSS and JavaScript. No frameworks, no component library, no build step past a script that stamps on the header and footer. The glass is one WebGL shader, about four hundred lines.

Some of it is not mine. The arcade runs on js-dos, a DOSBox build. The machines and the terminal's real system run on v86. The console is EmulatorJS driving libretro cores. The code runner uses each language's own WebAssembly build, and the graphing calculator loads nerdamer for antiderivatives. The Windows page is two open source recreations, win11React (CC0) and winXP (MIT), rebuilt so nothing in them reaches anyone else's server. Every one of them is fetched once, pinned by hash and served from this site, never from anyone else's server while you are here. The DOS games are shareware episodes, the operating systems are open source or freely redistributable, and each is credited on its page. Everything else is mine.

The music

Two long mixes play here, Outsider House and Heavenly Breakcore, and the ASMR library sits beside them. None of that music is mine. Every record is named on the page it plays on, with whoever made it, in order, so you can go and buy theirs. Nothing there is sold, indexed or recommended to anyone.

What it doesn't do

No cookies, no fingerprinting, no third-party scripts, nothing to sign up for. Game saves stay in your browser.

Page views are counted, by me, on my own server: a date, a path, a number. Nothing that points back to you, so there is nothing to opt out of.
