Eight ball against the computer. Point the cue with the pointer, pull back to set the power and let go. Your first pot after the break decides whether you are on spots or stripes, and the black goes last.
How it is played
Fifteen balls are racked with the black in the middle. You break. After the break the table is open: the first ball potted on a legal shot gives that player the spots (one to seven) or the stripes (nine to fifteen), and the other player gets the rest. Pot one of your own group and you shoot again.
A shot is a foul if the cue ball goes in a pocket, hits nothing, or hits a ball from the other group (or the black) before one of your own. After a foul the other player has ball in hand and can put the cue ball anywhere on the cloth, or behind the line if the foul was on the break.
Once your group is cleared you are on the black. Pot it and you win. Pot it early, or pot the cue ball with it, and you lose. The black going down on the break is not a loss: the balls are racked again and the same player breaks.
Aiming: with a mouse the cue points from the pointer through the cue ball, so move the pointer to swing it and the line shows where the cue ball will meet the first ball, where that ball will go and where the cue ball will go after it. Press and pull away from the cue ball to set the power, then release. On a phone, tap to point the cue and pull back to shoot.
Spin: the small ball in the control row sets where the cue strikes. Left or right puts side on for the cushions; above the centre the cue ball follows through after contact, below it draws back. Tap the centre to take the spin off.
