Arcade

Seven games from the DOS years that their makers let anyone pass around, running in DOSBox compiled to WebAssembly. Nothing here is ours: each one is named for whose it is, with the terms it came under at the foot of the page. Sound and music are on, a keyboard is enough, and on a phone the controls draw themselves over the picture.

Where they come from

Every file was fetched from the place named here, checked against a pinned hash, and put in its bundle unchanged; the exact archives and the words of each licence are in the repository's docs/arcade.md.

Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, Raptor, Rise of the Triad, Duke Nukem 3D
The shareware releases from Apogee's own ftp.3drealms.com, share directory, as mirrored on the Internet Archive in December 2015. Each carries Apogee's vendor.doc or 3D Realms' license.txt: everyone can, and is encouraged to, copy, upload and pass the program around without charging for it, with all of its files included and none altered. Keen and Wolfenstein are id Software's, Raptor is Cygnus Studios', the other two Apogee's and 3D Realms' own.
Jazz Jackrabbit
Epic MegaGames' shareware release, version 1.1, from the Internet Archive. Its license.doc allows and encourages online services to distribute the game as long as no files are altered or removed.
Tyrian 2000
Jason Emery's, of Eclipse Software. He made the game freeware in 2004 and wrote that everyone should feel free to play it and share it; the copy is the one camanis.net has carried since and the OpenTyrian project points to.
The emulator
js-dos 8, Alexander Guryanov's DOSBox for the browser, under the GPL 2, served from this site with nothing loaded from anywhere else.

Left out on purpose: One Must Fall 2097, whose developer called it freeware in 1999 while every copy of it still carries a licence forbidding copies, and the arcade originals, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man and Galaga, whose ROMs are not anyone's to give away. The registered episodes of the shareware games are still sold by their owners, and this arcade is the reason to go and buy them.
